[00:01] REENA JADHAV: On to the next chapter which is a really fun chapter eleven which is fifty shades of green with plants and sex. Alright I didn’t think that there was a connection I would have assumed the opposite the more meat you eat sort of you know the hotter.

[00:17] DR. JOEL KAHN: Think about a hotdog. If I had a hotdog in my hand it will just be dripping down. Think about a carrot, that carrot is straight up and that makes the case but there is again I’ll say it every time there’s a lot of science and a lot of reason to believe a plant based diet favors long term sexual out performance. It’s a real problem I mean the science says by the time men are 50-60, 40-50% of men have erectile dysfunction. We learned even just this week again from the Harvard school of public health if a man’s having problem with erectile function it’s a very strong risk they also clogged arteries. So if the only symptoms you need Viagra you still need your heart checked, you still need careful analysis why. Because sexual responsiveness to men and women is related to blood flow and if you have healthy clean arteries leading a healthy plant diet you’re likely to have better and sustained sexual performance your whole life and if you have an American diet or even maybe a cleaner but meat heavy, chicken, cheese heavy diet you are at risk of clogging your arteries that’s part of it. Specific foods that favor artery health we talked about some of them water melon I did mention beets, greens, spy nuts and all may contribute to better sexual performance. There’s some rumor out there there’s actually some science that body odor as measured scientifically is more favorable and people that eat plants and dead animals so the all-dating scene might be more enjoyable. So I say switch your blue pills to blueberries and the worst thing you can do before a date is it something like a sausage, egg, bacon because you will be the hotdog with no power in you.

[02:08] REENA JADHAV: Are there any specific plants that actually drive sexual performance?

[02:11] DR. JOEL KAHN: Yeah, it those artery friendly ones actually but it’s there some stuff about some spices, cinnamon, cloves again mustards including turmeric. There’s the berries, there’s a watermelon, there’s the green leaf particularly alular which I think some people call rock. Oh I know a rocket in your date eat some rocket.
